More from ABC Soaps In Depth
Gh Liz Cameron
Whether he was fighting with or for Franco, Cameron did so out of love for and devotion to mom Elizabeth. The bond between Liz and her eldest has become one of our favorite parent/child relationship on not only this soap but TV in general.
Gh Ava Crimson Cover
Ava may not have liked the reaction her Crimson piece garnered, but she couldn’t have had an issue with the magazine’s gorgeous cover.
Gh Sonny Sam Jason Moss
We’ve been keeping a very close eye on that rather alien-like plant in Sonny and Carly’s kitchen. Why? Because the last time we looked away, it grew exponentially!
Matt Cohen Abc Copy 2
We hated to see Matt Cohen’s Griffin leave but loved his final moment. As the handsome doc exited the hospital for the last time, he paused… as if reflecting on both what had and might have been. Plus, because the character simply left town, it allowed us to hope that he might return one day (and he did!).
Gh Valentin Nina Wedding
Despite the fact that Nina did not reclaim her title as Mrs. Valentin Cassadine, her wedding was still the social event of the season. Cynthia Watros gave a blistering performance as Sasha’s confession burned Nina’s world down around her. And since Valentin’s part in the ruse has not yet been revealed, this secret is a gift that promises to keep on giving!
GH Nelle Ryan - ABC
Apparently, Pentonville is the place to be. This year, so many characters got sent to — and bonded at — the prison, a whole spin-off could’ve been set there!
Travel Guide Port Charles
Coolest Companion Piece
Did you know that Lila Morgan Quartermaine’s grandmother, Lillian, patented over 175 inventions? Or that Port Charles hosts the 14th largest Oktoberfest in New York State? You would if you owned the Lucy Coe-penned Travel Guide To Port Charles, available on Amazon!
Gh Drew Exit
Most Confounding Exit
Drew stepped into an elevator and was never seen again, his character killed in an off-screen plane crash that had almost no impact on the canvas. By a few days later, it was as if the character — and portrayer Billy Miller — had never set foot in Port Charles.
Gh Finn Anna
Biggest Missed Opportunity
Anna was off the canvas for nearly six months, yet only just before her return did the show take advantage of the character’s absence by playing the Hayden/Finn story. Imagine how much more dramatic the situation would have been, had Finn been bonding with his ex and their daughter all that time!
Gh Sam Shoots Shiloh
Most Pointless Death
It’s not that we didn’t want Shiloh to die. Like most fans, we couldn’t wait to see the cult leader get his comeuppance! And like most fans, we salivated at the prospect of a juicy murder mystery… only to be shocked and disappointed when instead we got a story in which Sam shot the baddie, kicking off a non-starter of a story we all knew would find the heroine going free before long.
