GH's Maurice Benard Shares a Birthday Message to His Son, Joshua

Remember the actor who played the younger Sonny Corinthos in the special episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL on Nov 12? Well, that was Maurice Benard’s son, Joshua Benard, and he just turned 14 on Dec. 5. Of course, his proud pop had a special message for his boy on his big day. “Let me tell you a little bit about my son,” Benard shared on Instagram. “People say he’s a mini-me. But I don’t think so. He is his own individual. That’s what I love about him.

“He has more confidence at 14 today than I have at 55,” the Emmy winner added. “One of the things that I love about him is how much he loves his mama. I think that’s a great trait and I have no doubt that he will be whatever he wants to be. Happy birthday, my son. I love you very much.”

After watching Joshua playing a younger version of his dad, GH viewers already know that he inherited his father’s acting talent. And the kid can also sing, as Benard previously shared video of Joshua singing along to a Justin Bieber song.
