Happy Birthday to Steve Burton — See His Fun Selfies With Co-Stars!

Please join us in wishing daytime star Steve Burton a very happy birthday!

The actor got his big break in show business as surfer guy Chris Fuller on OUT OF THIS WORLD in 1987, and had a small role as Harris Michaels on DAYS OF OUR LIVES in 1988, but Burton’s career really exploded when he joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL in 1991 as Jason Quartermaine! He played the character for years, through his transformation into Jason Morgan, Sonny’s right-hand-man, earning himself a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2007.

In his more than two decades on GH, Burton became a viewer favorite, and his pairings with Kimberly McCullough’s Robin, Rebecca Herbst’s Elizabeth, and Kelly Monaco’s Sam all had incredibly passionate fan bases. But probably the most popular “couple” on the soap would be Jason’s enduring friendship with Maurice Benard’s Sonny Corinthos.

GH fans were devastated when Burton chose to leave the soap in 2012, but the popular actor found continued success when he joined the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in the newly-created role of Dylan McAvoy just a few months later. Again, his chemistry with his Y&R co-stars created many popular couples, and Dylan’s relationship with Sharon Case’s Sharon emerged a favorite. He also took home another Outstanding Supporting Actor Daytime Emmy Award in 2017 for his work on the show.

Sadly for his Y&R fans, Burton chose to leave the soap and last aired in January of 2017. The actor moved to Nashville to spend more time with his family and even launched a new business with his wife, Sheree, called Burton Nutrition Company, looking to help his many fans reach their fitness and health goals. He also co-owns a barbecue restaurant with his former GH castmate Jonathan Jackson called Jack & Jamesons.

Despite the role of Jason being recast with actor Billy Miller, in September of 2017, Burton returned to GH as the mysterious “Patient Six” and upon his return to Port Charles, was revealed to be the real Jason! (Miller’s character turned out to actually be his twin brother, Andrew Cain.) And now Burton’s adventures on GH continue to thrill fans to this day.
