GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Hayley Erin Reveals What It Was Really Like Taking Over for Kristen Alderson as Kiki!

Q: How hard is it to not burst out laughing when you’re working with Roger [Howarth, Franco]?

A: It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.

Q: Have you always wanted to be an actress?

A: Yep, when I was three, I would pretend the mirror was a TV and I was on it. So I started in commercials and have been working at it ever since.

Q: How much do you enjoy having scenes with little adorable Avery?

A: So much. The girls have grown up so much since I started. It’s so fun now that they have their own personalities.

Q: Were you a GH fan before joining the show and have you talked with the beautiful talented Genie Francis (Laura)?

A: I started watching when I was auditioning and have been hooked ever since. And Genie is the sweetest!

Q: When the holidays come are you taping far in advance of the actual holiday, or close to it?

A: We film a month ahead, so we do Christmas in November and Halloween in September, etc.

Q: Are the Jeromes ever going to have another family gathering? What does Kiki really think of Nelle?

A: I hope so! I love the crazy Jerome family. And Nelle… I think Nelle is up to something, but Kiki always sees the best in people.

Q: How long did it take for the cast and crew to accept you when you first joined the show?

A: A nanosecond. The cast and crew have been nothing but accepting.

Q: What was it like being a recast? Was it hard taking over a role? Did you watch when Kristen [Alderson] played Kiki?

A:a It’s never easy walking into an established role. Especially when that role is established by a goddess like Kristen Alderson. I love Kristen’s Kiki and have probably watched every YouTube video of her. It’s an honor to be her clone!

Q: Who would you like to work with more?

A: So many people! I’d love to work with Michael Easton (Finn) again, more Jane Elliot (Tracy) is always good. My girl Brytni Sarpy (Valerie), and that Kin Shriner (Scotty)! Honestly too many people to fit in a tweet. There isn’t anyone I don’t want to work with!

Q: Do you want GH to recast Morgan?

A: Maybe someday, but for now let the poor guy die in peace.

Q: I would love to see Michael and Kiki be good friends. Both could have someone to talk to like Jason and Carly are.

A: I love that idea! Who ever said exes can’t be friends…

Q: Kiki and Dillon have won me over. What kind of story would you like to do with them? Sky’s the limit.

A: Woo! #Killon! I would like to see something different. I love the way they’ve taken their time. I want a full-fledged love story! Both characters deserve to have some happiness in life, and I love that they’ve found it with each other. Even if they aren’t together.

Q: What is your favorite part about playing Kiki?

A: I love how good Kiki’s heart is. She wants the best for everyone, but she just can’t stay out of trouble.
