“I’m very excited because I get to go back for my second wardrobe fitting when they start rehearsal,” she said, “so I can peek in on things! I can’t wait!”
Herring revealed that she’ll first air on Tuesday, May 17, and is thrilled that there will be an actual storyline for Lucy beyond just hosting the ball and likely ending up in her underwear again. Although the daytime vet admitted she’s not sure if this year’s script will continue the scandalous tradition.
“Truthfully, I don’t know,” Herring confided with a laugh. “My idea was always to have one of the guys be in their underwear for a change!”
Herring also recently celebrated her third decade as the irrepressible Ms. Coe. “I started shooting sometime in March, 30 years ago,” she recalled, “and April 11, Lucy first aired.”
