Kathleen Gati joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL in 2012 as Dr. Liesl Obrecht, the woman running the Swiss clinic where Faison was holding Robin captive. It was just supposed to be a brief role, but the talented actress quickly became a fan favorite, and years later is still appearing on the soap!

Q: I was shocked when I first heard you talk as you — where’s the accent? Amazing! Is it your idea?
A: The role was a Swiss German woman. So I auditioned with an accent.

Q: Is Dr. O in love with or attracted to Franco? She’s awful possessive of him and anti-Elizabeth.
A: Dr. O isn’t in love with Franco, but he’s her only friend and she’s very protective of him!

A: Thank you! It has been and continues to be a delightful surprise!

A: I was born in Montreal, and lived there until I was nine, then moved to Victoria before moving to New York!

A: Don’t think the characters will ever be “friends” because Dr. O is so stubborn! But the sparring is fun!

A: Trust me, I’m also very keen on knowing who I schtooped to have such a lovely son as Ryan Paevey (Nathan)!

A: Totally agree! They interacted for the first time at the wedding. Fun!

A: I definitely act motherly towards Ryan. Much to his chagrin, probably!
