THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Daniel Goddard Shares a Backstage Look at Neil’s Funeral
Watching the funeral of Neil Winters on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS was a powerfully emotional experience for the fans, but also for the cast and crew who were mourning the loss of their dear friend, Kristoff St. John. The stars of Y&R did very little acting that day, something you can tell from the backstage photographs that Daniel Goddard (Cane) took and shared on social media. “I photographed the behind the scenes of today’s Y&R memorial episode because I wanted to share it with you,” he explained. “So here are some photos of the cast coming together to say farewell.”
Goddard also revealed some secrets of exactly how the episode came to be. “Everything you saw,” he confided, “all of the eulogies given were filmed in just one take and with no rehearsals. Each actor just walked up there and said their dialogue, and then sat back down. We are so proud of this episode. And I hope you are, too… because I am sure that Kristoff Is.”
The emotion that viewers saw on screen was real, and is evident in the photos that Goddard took of castmates Christel Khalil (Lily), Bryton James (Devon), Shemar Moore (Malcolm), Eric Braeden (Victor), Joshua Morrow (Nick), Christian LeBlanc (Michael), Peter Bergman (Jack), and Beth Maitland (Traci).
