THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Actor David Hedison Dead at 92
Prolific actor David Hedison has died on July 18 at the age of 92. While perhaps best known for playing Captain Lee Crane on the ABC series VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA in the ’60s, Hedison is known to soap fans for his roles as Spencer Harrison on NBC sudser ANOTHER WORLD in the 90s and a stint as Arthur Hendricks on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in 2004.
Arthur was a judge who once had an affair with Katherine Chancellor and returned to Genoa City years later to reconnect. His stepson, Harrison Bartlett, claimed Arthur had killed his mother, Eleanor, to get his hands on her fortune, but he was never charged. Katherine chose to believe in Arthur and accepted his marriage proposal, but in the end, he couldn’t handle the constant suspicion and left town. It was later revealed that Katherine and Arthur’s son was Tucker McCall.
Viewers might also recognize Hedison from his many roles in show business over the decades, in films like The Fly, The Lost World, or Live and Let Die, as well as numerous television appearances on series like WONDER WOMAN, THE BOB NEWHART SHOW, HART TO HART, DYNASTY, and MURDER, SHE WROTE.
