THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Stars Celebrate Peter Bergman’s Anniversary

On Nov. 25, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS aired a very special episode dedicating the entire hour to celebrating the 30th anniversary of Peter Bergman‘s run as Jack Abbott. Of course, his actual debut on the soap was on Nov. 27, 1989, but this just extends the celebration!

Bergman is beloved by his castmates as well as Y&R fans, and many of them took to social media to share the love for their co-star and celebrate his three decades in Genoa City. Donny Boaz, who recently joined the soap as the new recast of Chance Chancellor, revealed that when Bergman isn’t working, the soap will sometimes put him in his dressing room where he is inspired by the motivational sayings on the wall (along with his 18 Daytime Emmy nomination plaques!). “You can’t help but learn and be inspired by the man,” he admitted on Instagram. “Congrats, Peter. 29 years and 10 months to go to catch up to where you are now. Pleasure to know you and call you a friend.”

    "Ya know, I just spent an hour looking for a very specific picture of Peter and I to show you... couldn’t find it. Grrrr. I did find other cool ones, I’ll show you those later. I have known this man for a quarter of a century. Damn. I love him so. He is the most compassionate man alive. This Monday marks his 30 year anniversary on Y&R. A job he felt would probably last for six months. Those are his words. It has been my pleasure and quite an honor to work as his leading lady (off and on) for so many years. We have had many many laughs and have bickered like a real married couple. He has always been supportive and one of my greatest cheerleaders, even when he knew it might not serve him well. He has always supported me. He is a great actor. A great man. A gentleman. I call him “Hubbell” and so often felt like his “Katie”. I mean... He’s Hubbell! If you don’t know that movie reference... you gotta start watching better films. One of my favorite stories and I think a story that is a perfect depiction of Peter Bergman and myself is when Peter was getting interviewed and the reporter asked: “What is your relationship like with Michelle Stafford?” Peter said... “It’s like this, I cannot leave the house without my watch, Michelle doesn’t even own one.” It’s so true. LOL! We have met (through our 25 years) in the middle and that middle place is beautiful. Peter is beautiful. Happy 30 my friend! I love you. ❤️"
