On what would have been the actress’ 90th birthday, we look back at the epic career of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ legendary Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) that spanned daytime, primetime, and film.

Beginning her career in the ‘50s on the big screen in films like The Man From the Alamo, The Intruder, and The Boston Strangler, Cooper became a television star in the ‘60s, earning her first Emmy nomination for her performance in BEN CASEY.  She later went on to appear in shows like MAVERICK, PERRY MASON, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, HAWAII FIVE-0, and more. But the star is best known for her role as powerhouse matriarch Katherine Chancellor on Y&R, a role she played from 1973 until her death in 2013.

Over the years, Cooper racked up 10 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, taking home the trophy in 2008 for Outstanding Lead Actress. She also received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
