DAYS OF OUR LIVES Star Deidre Hall Celebrates Her Birthday — See Her Awesome Selfies With Her Co-Stars!
All our best to daytime superstar Deidre Hall (Marlena, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), who celebrates her birthday today! After various guest roles on primetime series in the early ‘70s, including a recurring run as Nurse Sally Lewis on EMERGENCY, Hall landed on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS from 1973-75 as Barbara Anderson. But it was when Hall joined DAYS in 1976 as psychiatrist Dr. Marlena Evans that the actress became a soap legend. She has also racked up three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work on the NBC sudser — two for Lead Actress, and one for Supporting.
Hall has also played the dual role of Hattie Adams on DAYS, although when the character was originally introduced, she was played by the actress’ real-life twin sister, Andrea Hall. Soap fans who grew up in the ’70s might also remember Hall from her role as superheroine Electra Woman on the Saturday morning kids show from prolific producers Sid and Marty Krofft!
Hall had to leave DAYS in 1987 when it became too difficult to appear on the soap at the same time as her primetime series OUR HOUSE, but she returned in 1991 and stayed until 2009. In 2011, Marlena returned again to Salem with John Black and has remained ever since, often at the center of plenty of drama!
Hall loves her DAYS castmates so much she’s taken tons of selfies with them — check out some of her best in the fun backstage gallery below!
