Inside Katherine Kelly Lang’s Beverly Hills Boutique (EXCLUSIVE)

Lang and boyfriend Dominique Zoida met Mbarek through mutual friends, and after visiting his Florence shop, they were wowed. When the couple suggested he open a location in the States, Mbarek responded, “Why don’t you open it?” Though the suggestion surprised the actress, she eventually decided to go for it.

The store name has special meaning for Mbarek, who almost a decade ago underwent a life-saving heart transplant surgery. “He did put a lot of heart behind [his brand],” Lang explained. “It comes from his passion and love of life and gratitude, and you can feel that in the product.”

Mbarek overcame many challenges to achieve the success he enjoys today. “He’s such an inspiring person,” said Lang.

Lang’s mother, Judith (who has operated clothing boutiques in Northern California for decades), celebrated her daughter’s accomplishment. “I grew up watching her own her own stores and learned a lot through the years,” said the actress.

In addition to this latest venture, Lang also operates Katherine Kelly Lang Kaftans, Kelly’s Closet and Salsedine Swimwear. “We’re involved in a lot,” she readily admitted.

In the midst of trying to get the store up and running, Lang was heavily involved in B&B storyline. “Thank God Dom can do a lot of this kind of work,” she said. “It takes a good team!”

From sneakers to handbags, each leather item is hand-crafted. “Ben got his start creating belts that he sold on the sidewalks of Florence,” said Lang. “He eventually opened a small store and has just kept growing.”

Italian Consulate General Silvia Key dropped in to help congratulate Lang and Mbarek on their store, which is located in what’s known as the “Golden Triangle” of Beverly Hills.
