Stars Pay Tribute to the Late Betty White

“Our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of Betty White, who graced us with her joyful presence and remarkable talent as Ann Douglas,” the soap shared in a statement on its social media channels. “Betty was as Bold and Beautiful as they come, and she will be greatly missed.”

McCook made several different posts spread across different social media platforms to remember his one-time co-star. “When Betty worked on our show, we gave her my dressing room (it’s closest to the stage) for the duration,” he recalled on Instagram. “On her first day, I stuck my head in to welcome her. She smiled and said, ‘Thanks for the room. We could share, you know!’ and she gave a wonderful, sly wink every day. God rest her sweet, funny soul.” In a second Instagram post, he shared that “it was an honor” to have worked with her, and then shared an amusing anecdote about the funny lady. “Betty was glad to admit she was there in the earliest years of television: She said when your TV set broke down, she would come over and fix it. God bless her memory.”

“So sad to hear that Betty White passed,” lamented Lang on Instagram. “She was truly an incredible lady! It was such a pleasure to work with her. She would always come to work with a huge smile on her face. You could tell she just loved life! So positive and kind. And she always had so much energy! She was such an amazing actress, and her humor was off the charts. What a wonderful life she lived.”

“I was sad to learn of the death of Betty White. She played my grandmother on B&B and I am grateful to have known and worked with such an amazing, talented woman,” Moss confessed. “We can only learn from someone who has been on this planet for 99 years and we learned that laughter and her zest for life was truly the best medicine. RIP Betty White. 🙏💕”

Gareis captioned a photo of her, White, McCook and Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie) with one of White’s quotes from when she was named to Guinness World Records in 2014 for having the longest television career for a female entertainer. “’I have no regrets at all. None. I consider myself to be the luckiest old broad on two feet.’ May we all learn to live like Betty,” Gareis wrote in honor of her former co-star.

To caption a photo of her and White on the B&B set, Jones borrowed a moving quote from podcaster Susie Meister about the television legend that said "Live your life in such a way that if you die at 99, it’s still too soon.” Adding her own thoughts about the iconic actress, Jones ended with, "Soar high and laugh much with the angels."

Tinker’s connection to the legendary star is a personal one: His grandfather, legendary television executive and producer Grant Tinker, was married to Mary Tyler Moore from 1962 to 1981, co-creating THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW with his then-wife. The couple was close friends with White and her husband, Allen Ludden, and they often double-dated. “Gramps and Betty ❤️‍🩹 RIP to an absolute legend,” the younger Tinker captioned a vintage photo of the two couples.

Long before she was cast as GH’s Trina, Mikayla shared the screen with White in an episode of HOT IN CLEVELAND. “So incredibly grateful I had the chance to work with you,” wrote Mikayla, who guest-starred in a 2012 episode of the TV Land sitcom. “May we meet in another lifetime 💔.”

Since Young was in between B&B runs when White was taking her daytime turn, he never got the chance to meet her on the soap’s set. But he still paid tribute to the legendary actress who was beloved by so many. “Thank you, Betty, for the laughter. You crossed a generational barrier that no one else but you could cross,” he wrote. “Rest peacefully sweet, sweet princess.”
