Tanner Novlan’s Son Turns One — See How Much He’s Grown!

It’s been a whole year since Jones Douglas Novlan — the son of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL stars Tanner Novlan (Finn) and Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin) — unexpectedly entered the world two months early. The little guy spent several weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (or NICU) at Cedars Sinai Hospital before he joined his parents and big sister, Poppy, at home, and Jones has thrived and flourished over the past twelve months!

During the weekend ahead of their son’s June 6 birthday, Novlan and Ewell hosted a rainbow-themed birthday party for their little ray of sunshine, complete with a brightly-decorated birthday cake and party hats.

“First trip around the sun 💫,” Ewell wrote on Instagram. “Surprising us two months early, and you’ve been keeping us on our toes ever since! Jones, being your Mama is such an adventure, I can’t wait for all that’s to come. 🎉”

    A month after Jones’ premature birth, Ewell shared this photo from the NICU at Cedars Sinai Hospital. “I’m so grateful for every single Doctor & NICU nurse who is helping Jones strengthen and grow, so when the time comes, we can finally bring him home. We’re so excited to welcome him and we can’t do this without the support of all our family, friends, and loved ones.”

    “Long night but a great morning. So happy to have our lil man home,” Novlan confessed after Jones was finally released from the NICU after being born two months early.

    “Favorite new accessory,” Ewell joked of her little boy.

    Jones made the cutest little Olaf the Snowman when the family dressed as Frozen characters on Halloween!

    “Lazy Sunday. Dad on duty,” Novlan said of a weekend afternoon spent with Jones and his big sister, Poppy.

    In March, Novlan shared some of the silly faces Jones makes.

    Later that month, Jones survived his first trip to Disneyland with “no meltdowns,” according to his dad!

    The birthday boy celebrated turning one with some playtime in a ballpit! “Happy birthday to the most charming guy I know,” shared Jones' proud pop.
