Bryan Dattilo Tweets That He’s Leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Tags:

Fans were thrown into a tizzy when actor Bryan Dattilo apparently tweeted that he was leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES! “25 years. Two months. 12 days. And four hours,” he posted. “Good run. Thanks to my DAYS family and fans. Enjoy Lucas while you can.”

Dattilo joined the cast of DAYS back in 1993 as Lucas Roberts, the son of Kate Roberts who later learned his father was Bill Horton. He was part of the popular teen scene in the ‘90s alongside castmates Alison Sweeney (Sami), Christie Clark (Carrie), and Austin Peck (Austin). Dattilo has come and gone a few times over the years, briefly in 2001 and for a longer stretch in 2010. He brought Lucas back to Salem in 2012, and has remained ever since.

Recently, Lucas has fallen on hard times, with the alcoholic returning to the bottles to drown his sorrows after Adrienne (really look-alike Bonnie Lockhart) dumped him and he grieved for the loss of his son, Will again. But with the revelation that Will is really alive, and a budding romance with ex-wife Chloe, things were looking up for Lucas once again.

At this time, there are no further details about Dattilo’s departure, either when Lucas will last air or how he’ll be written out. (In fact, it hasn’t even been confirmed that he’s actually leaving.) With Sweeney coming back for another stint as Sami, perhaps they could reunite and live “happily” ever after? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
