THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Jason Canela Is Engaged!
Congratulations are in order for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Jason Canela (ex-Arturo), who got engaged to girlfriend Janaina on Jan. 6! The actor popped the question by getting down on one knee at Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar in Florida. “I truly believe we can make each other as happy as we made this kind individual the moment I proposed to you for the rest of our lives,” Canela wrote, referencing the guy in the next booth over whose face was beaming at the proposal in the photo.
“I look forward to loving you,” he continued, “to exploring life with you, to exploring you, and to being your rock when you need rocking, woman. LOL. Seriously, though, I love you with all my mind, body, and soul. I could not have chosen a better partner to do life with. She said yes. Well, technically, she said, ‘Let me think about it.’ But I’m pretty sure she was joking. I hope she was joking. Ha ha ha. Janaina, were you joking?”
On her own Instagram page, Janaina proved she was joking as the Brazilian-born model shared her own response to the romantic proposal. “Yesterday, on my birthday, I received some of the best gifts life could ever offer,” she posted. “I get to spend the rest of my life next to you, Jason, and I’m officially a part of your family which I love so much! I have never been so happy and excited in my life. I look forward to this new journey and I can’t wait to keep creating beautiful moments like the ones we are already living. I love and yes, yes, yes a million times!”
During his run on Y&R, Canela’s character was pretty unlucky in love with Arturo enjoying a brief affair with Nikki before starting a relationship with Abby that was ruined by his lingering feelings for his brother’s wife, Mia. Luckily, in real life, Canela has found true love with Janaina, and we wish the happy couple all the best for a lifetime of happiness together!
