Melissa Ordway Opens up About Abby’s Romance With Chance on Y&R (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

As Abby throws herself back into the dating pool on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, sparks have been flying between the heiress and a recently-returned Chance. But is she rushing too quickly into a new relationship and setting herself up for yet another heartbreak? As portrayer Melissa Ordway explained it, “Chance is different than any guy Abby’s dated before. He has an adventurous life. He’s always out saving the world.”

But if there’s one thing that we know about Abby, it’s that she tends to jump quickly from one relationship to the next. After all, just a short time earlier, she was with Nate! “He and Abby never saw their dating as that serious,” defended Ordway, adding that in hindsight, Abby realizes that Nate was a rebound. “She was right off a heartbreak from Arturo, just putting herself back together when Nate pursued her.”

Despite her serial-dater past, Abby only has eyes for Chance at the moment! “Abby really likes him,” noted Ordway. “Part of the attraction is that Abby knew him [a long time ago] when he wouldn’t give her the time of day. So Abby’s like, ‘Look at me now!’”

However, while Chance’s dangerous job may be attractive to Abby right now, Ordway can see where it could be a double-edged sword should their relationship progress. “There could be secrets that he will keep from Abby, and that could lead to problems,” mused the actress. “And heartbreak.

“I’m hopeful though,” she concluded, “that Abby’s finally found somebody who can handle her — and her family! I’m excited to see where this relationship goes!”
