Agnes Nixon, Creator of ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE Passes Away

Soap opera legend Agnes Nixon died this morning at the age of 93.

Nixon began her career in daytime working for Irna Phllips and wrote for AS THE WORLD TURNS, SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, GUIDING LIGHT, and ANOTHER WORLD. She later created ONE LIFE TO LIVE, which debuted in 1968, and ALL MY CHILDREN, which premiered in 1970. She also co-created LOVING with Douglas Marland, and was was creative consultant on its spinoff, THE CITY.

In 2010, Nixon received the Lifetime Achievement at the Daytime Emmy Awards for her illustrious career.

According to Philly.com, her passing was confirmed by ex-son-in-law David Hiltbrand.

Nixon is survived by her four children, Cathy, Mary, Robert and Emily; and 11 grandchildren.
