Michael E. Knight Joins the Cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL
A familiar face arrived in Port Charles when Michael E. Knight joins the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL on Sept. 30! The actor is best known for playing Tad “The Cad” Martin on ALL MY CHILDREN on and off from 1982-2011, a role that earned him two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Leading Man in 1986 and 1987 and one for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2001.
Even as Knight had begun taping episodes on the GH set, the soap still refused to spill the beans on who he would be playing. The only thing they would confirm is that he would not be playing his AMC character of Tad. Of course, now that he’s made his debut in Port Charles, it has been revealed that Knight is playing attorney Martin Gray.
After AMC came to an end, Knight made primetime appearances in DROP DEAD DIVA and NCIS, then returned to daytime to play Dr. Simon Neville on CBS sudser THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, where he recurred in 2015 and 2016.
AMC fans will likely be hoping that Knight’s character will share scenes with Valentine, because not only is the Cassadine’s portrayer, James Patrick Stuart, a former AMC castmate (he played Will Cortlandt back in the early ’90s) but the two guys are also close friends.
