Don’t be confused when Brook Lynn looks a little different on GENERAL HOSPITAL during the week of Oct. 3… although she’ll still look very familiar! The role is once again being temporarily recast with Briana Lane stepping in for Amanda Setton, but this time it’s only for just one episode.
Lane had previously taken over for Setton back in 2020 when the actress went on maternity leave, but it was still an adjustment for her to step back into Brook Lynn’s shoes! “It was a wild 48 hours,” she told Soap Opera Digest of getting the call on Monday and reporting to the studio to tape on Wednesday.
After watching some recent episodes of Setton as the character, Lane revealed that she also went back to watch herself from a couple of years ago. “Since it had been two years, I forgot what mannerisms I had and how I spoke, so that was really helpful,” she explained.
Working again with Josh Swickard (Chase) was also very helpful in settling her back in. “Josh, as a scene partner, always makes you feel like he has your back and because I had some nerves initially coming in so quickly, that just took away so much stress,” Lane admitted.
Even though it was just for one episode, Lane was happy to reprise the role that earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer during her previous stint. “From getting to play such a creatively fulfilling role from a legacy family to being nominated for an Emmy to being asked back with such welcoming arms,” she enthused, “my experience with GH the past two years has been such a positive, once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list experience.”
