Can Monaco Pull Off Another Victory?

Last night was the final performance show for DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, and Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) finally got her first 10s from the judges this season, although she and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy didn’t get all 10s. “I was frustrated that Len [Goodman, judge] could not appreciate what we did in our freestyle,” Monaco confessed after the show. “He gave us a 10 for the paso doble. I felt that the freestyle was by far the highlight of what we did this season.”

Their freestyle performance to “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life” from Dirty Dancing had the actress performing aerial work for the first time, and she quickly got over her initial fears. “I felt really comfortable up there,” Monaco revealed, “and wished I could have been up there all night!”

Monaco may have won the very first season of DANCING WITH THE STARS, but she holds no illusions that her earlier victory will make triumphing over opponents Melissa Rycroft and Shaun Johnson any easier. “It would be icing on the cake,” she admitted of taking home the trophy again. “Sure, we both want it. When you get to the home stretch and you see that it’s viable, we want it just as bad as the other two couples do.”

With a score of 59, Monaco and Chmerkovskiy are in between Rycroft and Tony Dovolani (with 60 points) and Shawn and Derek Hough (with 57). In tonight’s results finale, all three couples will perform an “insta-dance” and their scores from that will be combined with these scores and viewer votes to determine the winner. Tune in tonight to see if GH fans were able to give Monaco the win!
