CMT — the cable network formerly known as Country Music Television — is jumping on the all-things-Jersey bandwagon with an original film airing this weekend… and Cynthia Preston (ex-Faith, GENERAL HOSPITAL) is going along for the ride! She’s starring opposite comedian Pauly Shore in the comedy Whiskey Business, about a JERSEY SHORE-type guido who is forced to hide out in the country after being falsely accused of murder and quickly develops a knack for bootlegging moonshine.
Shore plays Nicky, the son of New Jersey’s most powerful crime boss who would rather DJ and mix cocktails at the local club rather than follow in his father’s footsteps. But when he goes on the run to escape the law after being framed for a murder he didn’t commit, Nicky finds himself in a small Tennessee town where he sticks out like a IROC-Z amongst the beat-up pickups. Preston plays Jess, one of the locals who befriends Nicky as he tries to help the residents take down the corrupt sheriff, Gilly — played by John Schneider. Country crooner Tanya Tucker also stars as Trina, who takes Nicky in.
Whiskey Business debuts on Sunday, March 25, at 7 p.m. ET.
