DAYS’ Sweeney Heads To GH!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Alison Sweeney (Sami) is heading to GENERAL HOSPITAL… to direct! Stepping behind the camera is nothing new for the fan favorite, who has directed many episodes of the NBC soap since 2011. “I’m really excited,” Sweeney tells Soaps In Depth exclusively. “I’ve been ‘shadowing’ some of the directors there.”

And while the episode she’s slated to direct won’t feature former DAYS co-star Kirsten Storms (ex-Belle; now GH’s Maxie), the actress is excited to work with some new faces. “I get to direct Michelle Stafford (Nina), which I’m really looking forward to,” she enthuses. “I’m really excited to work with like Roger Howarth (Franco). I’ve just admired him from afar so I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Sweeney is also exploring producing, acting as executive producer as well as star of the upcoming Hallmark Channel movie Radio Hype. “It’s about a woman who is getting into being a female talk radio DJ,” she previews.

Although ABC hasn’t announced an airdate for Sweeney’s GH episode yet, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop. Same with her Hallmark Channel movie as co-stars and an airdate are revealed!
