Daytime Emmys 2018: Watch the Reels for Supporting Actress
The Daytime Emmy Awards are coming up fast, and the votes have already been cast. But now you can take a look at exactly what the Blue Ribbon Panel of judges had to decide who takes home the gold this year. Check out the official Emmy reels submitted by the nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress: Marla Adams (Dina, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS), Camryn Grimes (Mariah, Y&R), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, Y&R), Mishael Morgan (Hilary, Y&R), and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL).
Marla Adams (Dina, Y&R)
With Dina suffering from Alzheimer’s, Adams had plenty of juicy material for her reel, starting with Dina apologizing for causing her family so much pain and tearfully singing with Jack. This was followed by Dina breaking down after blurting out the secret to Ashley’s paternity which segues into the scenes where she rallies her strength to fight back against Graham’s manipulations. Adams closes out her reel with Dina’s Christmas chat with Ashley that takes a heartbreaking turn and desperately clinging to the last of her memories with Jack.
Camryn Grimes (Mariah, Y&R)
Grimes opens her reel with the big kiss and Mariah apologizing desperately to Tessa, followed by her tearful confession to Sharon as she struggles to come to terms with her sexuality, and finishing with Mariah opening up about her feelings to Tessa and being rejected.
Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie, DAYS)
Hayes’ reel is short but shows off her incredible rage, including Julie breaking down in tears after receiving a phone call that her son, David, had died, giving kind, motherly advice to Hope, and finally, a comedic side as she spars verbally with Chloe.
Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, Y&R)
Hendrickson kicks off her reel with a couple scenes of a very drunk Chloe going from fun-loving to serious with Kevin, followed by the climactic wedding where Chelsea confronted Chloe about how she murdered Adam. She finishes it off with the scenes of Chloe desperately trying to escape Genoa City with Victor’s help.
Mishael Morgan (Hilary, Y&R)
Morgan’s reel opens with Hilary opening up to Neil after her scheming was exposed by Mariah, and tearfully fearing that it will cost her Devon. Next she showcases Mariah opening up to Devon after Jordan leaked her nude photos online. The final scenes are when Mariah confessing her love to Devon at his hospital bedside while he lays comatose.
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy, B&B)
Woods starts off with a bang as Steffy wakes up horrified to realize that she slept with Bill. She races home and has an emotional breakdown with her husband. Next comes the scene where Steffy and Liam learn that they are going to have a baby followed by the one where Steffy freaks out at Bill’s suggestion that her baby could be his. And it closes out with Steffy crying and shaking as she struggles to confess to Liam that she slept with his father.
Now that you’ve seen all of the reels, you know why there is a sixth nominee instead of the usual five! This is going to be one of the most hotly contested races in this year’s competition, and we don’t envy the judges who had to make a decision!
