Is Dev in Trouble on GENERAL HOSPITAL? — Ashton Arbab Speaks Out (EXCLUSIVE)
With Sonny looking to make Dev a permanent part of the Corinthos family on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Carly and Jax are concerned about the newcomer’s influence on their daughter. Joss has had a bumpy return to school; however, Dev isn’t exactly the issue. In fact, Joss’ portrayer, Eden McCoy, suggested to Soaps In Depth that Dev’s unique perspective is actually just what the teen scene needs. “Dev adds a good contrast to the mix because he’s seen bad things that Joss, Cam, and Trina haven’t. They go through really hard things… but they’re all pretty privileged and sheltered because they come from wealth and such nice families.”
Though Dev spoke highly of his late mother, fate left him alone in the world and forced him to fend for himself on the streets of Turkey. “He’s only 16, but he’s seen a lot that most people in Port Charles probably haven’t,” noted portrayer Ashton Arbab. And while we still don’t actually know the details of what the pickpocket has seen, it’s clear he’s not quite as tough as he’d like everyone to believe. “He puts on this suave, bad-boy persona because that’s how he’s grown up,” explained Arbab. “He’s very slick with what he says and does… but on the inside, he has a lot of heart.”

It is that good heart hiding underneath Dev’s facade of bravado that Sonny connected to from the start. Unfortunately, with Joss still mourning Oscar and expecting a new sibling any day now, Carly and Jax fear that Dev’s presence in their daughter’s life is just one change too many. Add to that the lies of omission regarding the boy that Josslyn was forced to tell her father, and the whole situation has been causing tension between the Corinthoses.
In short, all of the adults around him have been discussing Dev’s place in the Corinthos home… and he has taken notice. With the young man keeping uncharacteristically quiet these days, Arbab warns, “Nobody really knows what he’s going to do next!”
