Great news for GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma)! After fracturing her wrist last month, she’s finally out of her cast! “Woohoo!” she posted to Instagram. “Thank you so much to my awesome orthopedic doctor Kaiser Permanente! My wrist is all healed and free from a cast!” In her hashtags, she also expressed her excitement that she’ll finally be able to go swimming this summer.
While she was happy to be out of her cast, the actress admitted it also felt a little unusual after so long. “It was so weird and my arm felt so heavy and strange!” she confided. And although it appears she still has to wear a brace for a little while, at least it’s not a heavy cast anymore!
Still, even a fractured wrist didn’t stop the pint-sized performer from hitting the stage for her dance recital over the weekend shortly after she injured herself! “Not the accessory we were looking for,” her mother posted, “but it is pink with glitter! So happy she can still dance with it!”
Silzer fractured her wrist playing goalie for her team at soccer camp. But on the plus side, she loved the pink cast with glitter, and her dance recital went really well even after she had to make a few adjustments to her jazz and lyrical routines! “The timing was terrible,” her mom shared, “but glad she could still dance since you know how hard they work all season.”
Her mom reported that Silzer had resorted to using chopsticks to scratch the itches under the pink plaster, but should hopefully only be stuck in it for four weeks. And thankfully, that turned out to be true!

Silzer became a fan favorite with GH viewers when she took over the role of Emma Scorpio Drake back in 2011. In fact, she recently celebrated the seventh anniversary of being cast on the show! And just like her on-screen mom, Kimberly McCullough (Robin), the soap has avoided recasting and allowed Emma to grow up naturally on the show. While Emma left with her parents when they got married and moved to California in 2016, Silzer has continued to make occasional appearances on GH over the subsequent years, usually for the Nurses Ball and sometimes just to help grandma Anna with a little spying!
