The changes that were made behind the scenes at DAYS OF OUR LIVES are about to be noticable on-screen! Former GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE headwriter Ron Carlivati has replaced co-headwriters Dena Higley and Ryan Quan, and his work is finally about to be seen!

Carlivati announced the news to his fans on Twitter back at the end of January, but because DAYS films so far ahead, the episodes he was writing back then weren’t going to be airing for months. Well, that time has finally arrived, and now the scribe has revealed that his first episode will be airing on Wednesday, July 19!

Carlivati started his career writing in daytime as a writer’s assistant on OLTL in 1996, rising through the ranks over the years to finally be promoted to headwriter in 2007. He remained with the soap until its cancellation in 2012, earning two Daytime Emmy Award Nominations for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series in 2002 and 2006, and taking home the Emmy trophy in 2008. After OLTL left the air, Carlivati was made headwriter of GH, where he stayed until 2015 when he was replaced with Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman.

In his new position, Carlivati will be the DAYS headwriter, with former headwriter Quan remaining on as creative consultant a title he will share with staff writer Sheri Anderson Thomas.
