Tequan Richmond (T.J., GENERAL HOSPITAL) was in Michigan shooting his new movie, Nowhere, MI, when he learned that he had been nominated for the Oustanding Younger Actor Daytime Emmy for the second year in a row!
“I was surprised, honestly,” he confesses to Soaps In Depth. “I haven’t been on the show as much as I’d like to this year, so to still get that nod is nice. I’m really happy about that.”
The busy young actor is planning to be back in Los Angeles for the Emmy ceremony, and hopefully to put in another GH appearance someday soon if his schedule allows! “I’ve been going from Chicago to Michigan to back home for a second and then back out,” Richmond explains. “I haven’t had any time, but I would love to.”
He’s also hoping this year’s Emmys isn’t a repeat of the first time he was nominated. “Last year I was unbelievably nervous,” Richmond confides. “Like, embarrassingly so! This year, hopefully I can be a lot cooler, since I already know the process and how it goes. Had to get the first time out of the way. I think I’ll be alright!”
