Join Kirsten Storms and Emme Rylan for Their Fall Knit-Along!

If you don’t follow GENERAL HOSPITAL stars Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and Emme Rylan (Lulu) on Instagram you might not know that the two actresses do fun “knit-alongs” with their fans — and another one has just begun! The fall knit-along has the pair of crafty ladies teaming up with Jennifer Knits in Los Angeles to produce the Barrington Beanie. “Jennifer is widely known for her pattern-making skills (she’s kind of the queen),” Storms noted, “and she designed the Barrington Beanie — which we’ve decided to knit for the autumn season!
“This beanie is my idea of the perfect hat, not too slouchy and not too tight,” she continued. “I’ve not stopped wearing it since we picked it up from her store yesterday. It’s in the ’90s here and I’m still rocking it. It’s THAT CUTE! We feel blessed to have teamed up with Jennifer because of her belief that knitting can truly help people. As someone who suffers from depression, anxiety, and a mood disorder, I know that the times I sit down to knit, I feel at peace. It does something for the brain, y’all.”

The actresses advise fans who want to join them in knitting this beanie to also follow the Jennifer Knits Instagram page as she’ll be uploading some helpful video tips and hints. The pattern is available for free download on her website, and you can either purchase a kit containing cashmere yarn and needles at a substantial discount from her website or purchase your own yarn at your favorite local shop.
“There is a cashmere kit and a wool kit,” Rylan reported. “Kirsten is doing the chocolate brown cashmere and I am knitting it in the dark green. Jen also has posted what yarn you can use from JoAnns or Michaels. Peep her Insta Stories as well! This knitting goddess is going to be posting right along with us. Hashtag for the knit-along is #fallknittingwithEmKandJK so make sure you’re also following that (the three of us will be!) so we can check each other’s progress!”
Make sure you’re following all three Instagram accounts and the hashtag and make sure to include the hashtag when you’re uploading pictures of your own progress on social media. And after all the fun, everyone will have a nice, cozy beanie to wear as the weather gets cool — It’s a win/win!
