Fans of ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE were devastated when the two soaps were canceled in 2011 and replaced by lifestyle programs THE CHEW and THE REVOLUTION. And while OLTL’s replacement was very short-lived, THE CHEW continues to air on ABC daily and recently played host to OLTL and GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Kristen Alderson (Starr/Kiki)! “Had a blast visiting so many of the OLTL crew members (a.k.a. my second family) that now work at THE CHEW,” the actress shared on Instagram. “Everyone there could not have been more sweet and welcoming! Tune in next Wednesday and you might catch a glimpse of me!”
THE CHEW will be celebrating Thanksgiving from Monday to Wednesday, naturally, and the Nov. 22 episode will include the show’s hosts sharing their Thanksgiving family favorites. There’s no mention in the schedule of Alderson making an appearance, so we can’t say whether she’ll be an actual guest or just there in the audience, so you may just want to keep your eyes peeled!
Fans of OLTL watched Alderson grow up as Starr on the late, lamented ABC sudser, and many followed the actress when she brought the character over to GH. Unfortunately, legal issues with Prospect Park prevented Starr from continuing to appear in Port Charles, and Alderson began playing the role of Kiki Jerome instead until her departure in 2015. Fans of GH might also remember the crossover with THE CHEW when Tracy and A.J. appeared on the cooking show as part of the infamous “Pickle Lila” storyline!
While many soap fans proudly refuse to ever watch any of the shows that have replaced their beloved stories, we thought you might like to know about Alderson’s visit in case you wanted to tune in to see her again!
