Never one to rest on his laurels, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Matt Cohen (Griffin) is branching out behind the scenes, hoping to direct a new film starring his wife, Mandy Musgrave, titled Mama Bear! “It seems like the only movies getting made these days are remakes, sequels, reboots, or some other steaming pile of you-know-what that no one wants to see,” he posted. “That’s why my production company created Mama Bear, a face-melting, pedal-to-the-metal, action comedy that finally delivers the entertainment you so desperately deserve.”
However, before they can make the full-length feature, Cohen explained that they’ll need to create a proof of concept for investors, and for that they’ll need a little help. In the hopes of raising the $100K required to make the short, they’ve launched an indiegogo.com page where they’re soliciting donations from fans to make their dream come true. In exchange for donations, fans can get perks ranging from a social media shout out to signed cast photos to lunch with Cohen himself, and even a producer credit on the film!
Fans of GH might only know Cohen as the buttoned-up Griffin Monroe, but the actor has a wicked sense of humor that you can get a taste of in this quick video where he explains his dream (with the help of his friends, wife, and adorable son, Macklin.)
Cohen has also recruited many of his friends and SUPERNATURAL co-stars to appear in Mama Bear, including Kim Rhodes (Cindy, ANOTHER WORLD), Adam Fergus, Rob Benedict, Richard Speight, Jr., and Briana Buckmaster.
