Back when Parry Shen (Brad, GENERAL HOSPITAL) met future wife Kim at a boarding school in Ojai, CA, he had a feeling she was the one… but it took him a few years to convince her. “She was the dorm parent of the girls’ dorm, and I was the dorm parent of the boys’ dorm,” he set up. “I became the best friend, but she’d always tell her other friends, ‘Why can’t I meet a guy as nice as Parry?’ Um, hello?”
Four years into their relationship, Shen finally made his move. “I wrote a note to her professing my feelings,” he recounted. “I kind of tossed it to her and said, ‘Read this when you have a chance… but not right now in front of me!’ She read it and was shocked, but once she knew how I felt, it just made sense. We basically were each other’s sanity on campus. So I got out of the friend zone!”

Thanks 4 all the Bday wishes! Spent part of the day pretending we lived in awesomely decorated rooms at @ikeausa and then taking a sneak peek at the newly renovated Brady Bunch House! (That big window was a fake “picture” that they hung up during the show’s run — as you can see, @hgtv made it a real one!)
Two decades later, Shen and his bestie are the parents of two amazing young ladies and an adorable pup. As busy and entertained as Avery, 14, Kori, 11 and little Roxi keep them, however, the sweethearts always find time for each other. “It’s very, very easy to fall into catering to the kids’ lives,” Shen admitted. “We do a lot of running around, but for the most part, we’ve tried to have the kids’ lives revolve around our lives just as ours revolve around theirs. “We find moments, like our poker nights with friends, so our life is never on hold for them — which I don’t think it should be,” he adds, “because then you’d be regretful!”
As the Shens have built a life together, the actor has also built his career and his fan base. But he remains his wife’s biggest fan. “She’s a third-grade teacher, just like Willow, and she has a way of disarming other people very easily,” he raved. “I can’t do that. It’s not my skill set at all! She’s everyone’s favorite gal pal, and for the most part, I’m very introverted. If it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t interact with anybody that wasn’t work-related. So she’s my better half, definitely!”
