GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Carolyn Hennesy Stars In New Movie

Tags:

Funny lady Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, GENERAL HOSPITAL) is set to strut her considerable stuff in Courting Des Moines, the sequel to the online series from Emmy winner Richard Schiff (THE WEST WING), CHASING THE HILL.

Premiering on Thursday, December 17 at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 theater in Pasadena, CA, for an Oscar-qualifying run, the timely film depicts a fictional presidential race in which Hennesy’s character, the former governor of New York, is running against a former California Congresswoman who’s a bit of a dark horse.

“Governor Sampson has got the smarts of any of our great politicians, but she has the style of Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada,” Hennesy laughs. “There’s that type of delicious arrogance, but as far as she’s concerned, it’s grounded in reality — she believes that she has the goods to deliver.”

However, when it comes to for the all-important caucuses, her famous attitude just might be her downfall. “She’s been through this election mill before and feels that she shouldn’t have to be in Iowa — Iowa should simply vote for her!” Hennesy explains, adding that she’ll share a wonderful scene opposite comedian-turned-actor Brian Haley. “And boy does she get her comeuppance.”

The movie opens wide on Friday, January 8. To learn what else Hennesy has been up to, check out her interview in an upcoming issue of ABC Soaps In Depth!
