Trey on GENERAL HOSPITAL – Everything You Need to Know
Kristina mentioning that she is a widow left some viewers confused, but that’s just because they didn’t remember Trey Mitchell on GENERAL HOSPITAL. The character was introduced in June of 2012, played by actor Erik Valdez, and after a brief but eventful run, the character was killed off in January of 2013.
Trey was introduced as the producer for Kristina Davis’ reality show, MOB PRINCESS. Her parents, Sonny Corinthos and Alexis Davis, accused him of exploiting her, but Kristina persuaded them to back off. However, she began to regret letting them film her life when her extended family got caught up in the drama and had their private lives exposed. It was then revealed that Trey’s father is mob boss Joe Scully, Jr., and he asked his son to help him take down Sonny using Kristina. Trey’s mother is Kate Howard, who was raped by Joe when he knew her as Connie Falconeri.
Scrapping the reality show so they could be together for real, Trey conned Kristina into marrying him in Las Vegas. Michael Corinthos and Starr Manning tried to stop the wedding but failed, and Sonny and Alexis were furious and wanted the marriage annulled. Kristina refused, but when she learned the truth about Trey and his father, she demanded they end the marriage.
When Kristina was kidnapped by Joe, Trey found him holding her at gunpoint in Sonny’s warehouse. In an attempt to rescue her, Trey struggled with his father over the gun, leaving Joe shot in the shoulder. After being patched up by Cesar Faison (disguised as Duke Lavery), Joe was shot again by Jason Morgan and died in Trey’s arms.
Trey struggled to get his life back together and worked at St. Timothy’s church in exchange for food and a place to stay. Feeling there was nothing left for him in Port Charles, Trey took a job working for David Vickers on one of his productions in Los Angeles and asked Kristina to come with him. She agreed, but before they could leave, the couple were involved in a car accident with Connie, Starr, and Michael, which left Trey brain dead from an aneurysm. As his only remaining family, Connie was the one who had to make the decision to turn off his life support.
