GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Vernee Watson Was ‘Shocked’ by Her Second Emmy Win (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

When Vernee Watson (Stella, GENERAL HOSPITAL) was named Outstanding Supporting Actress at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards — on the heels of last year’s Guest Performer win — she wasn’t just surprised. “I was shocked,” the actress, who broke into the biz back in 1970, admitted to Soaps In Depth. “I mean… I’ve been doing this for so long and then two years in a row, to win an Emmy? I’m very happy and grateful for that. I’m grateful for the opportunity to still be working, to have great support around me and to be able to do the work that God gave me to do.”

A big part of that work is teaching and inspiring her students. “I’m part of a non-profit organization called The H.E.ART [where] I teach acting,” she explained. “Besides acting, teaching young people and giving them self-confidence and strong self-images is my real passion. This [Emmy] is for them.”
