GENERAL HOSPITAL Actor James Westmoreland Passes Away
Actor James Westmoreland, who played Teddy Holmes on GENERAL HOSPITAL, died on Sept. 14 at the age of 80.
Using the stage name Rad Fulton, the actor landed a contract with Warner Bros. and appeared in numerous films and television programs. In 1972, he landed the role of Vietnam vet Teddy Holmes on GH.
“I was put into a hospital bed,” Westmoreland recalled on his website, “because I was brought to the hospital ward because I had Serum Hepatitis that my character had picked up in Vietnam for shooting up with dirty needles.
“GH was fun for me and the cast were all professionals and easy to get along with,” he continued. “Unfortunately after working on at least 140 shows, I came down with a serious illness and I had to leave the show and the most wonderful part I ever had came to an end.”
Westmoreland also played Decker on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in the early ‘80s.
Our thoughts are with Westmoreland’s friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
