GREY’S ANATOMY Star Chandra Wilson Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

Get ready, because GREY’S ANATOMY star Chandra Wilson is scrubbing in for an appearance on GENERAL HOSPITAL! The actress, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on the ABC primetime series, taped a guest spot for the daytime soap — the third she’s made on the soap — which will see her trading in her scrubs for a sequined gown to play Sydney Val Jean, East Coast fashion editor of Crimson magazine! People broke the news and revealed she will be co-hosting the Nurses Ball red carpet alongside Michelle Stafford’s Nina.

The last time Wilson guest starred on GH was in August of 2018, and she played Dr. Linda Massey, a therapist who counseled Jordan, Curtis, and Stella to try and help repair the fractured family before Curtis and Jordan tied the knot. And back in January, 2014, the actress played Tina Estrada, one of Kevin’s patients at the hospital.

Wilson has starred on GREY’S ANATOMY since its 2005 premiere, but her moonlighting in Port Charles wasn’t too tough to schedule because both shows are taped on the same lot at ABC. “I’ve watched GH for 35 years,” the actress confided to Soaps In Depth back in 2014 when she was preparing to make her first appearance on the soap. “I grew up with it. It holds such a place in my heart. Even though we’ve shared the same lot for 10 years I can’t talk to anybody on the lot… it’s weird to see them because they’re supposed to be in Port Charles! I have that kind of fan disconnect.”

So be sure not to miss all the excitement, drama, and special guests at this year’s GH Nurses Ball, and for more GH news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
