Jacob Young Is “Pumped” To Join THE WALKING DEAD!

If you’ve been paying attention to the Instagram profile of soap-hopper Jacob Young (ex-Rick, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL; ex-Lucky, GENERAL HOSPITAL; AJ, ALL MY CHILDREN) over the past few weeks, you know that he’d been dropping hints about an exciting primetime project he’s been working on. In a late March post, Young showed off his new look — well on his way to being a silver fox while sporting a salt-and-pepper beard — and teased that he was hard at work on a new show. “Time to play a new character on TV,” he announced. “It’s been a while. Looking forward to sharing with everyone soon.”
Then there was the selfie he posted, taken in the mirror of a trailer, where the AMC, GH, and B&B alum looked… well, kinda dirty… and was donning black fingerless leather gloves, a black shirt, and a black jacket. While Young again shared his excitement over whatever project it was that he was working on, he didn’t come clean about what, exactly, it was.
“So many things and people to be thankful for,” he wrote in the mysterious post. “This year all around is shaping up to be one of the best, personally and professionally! Thank you to everyone who has stood by me while I’ve taken this leap artistically. Can’t wait for you all to see what I’ve been up to all these months!”
Now, finally, the cat is out of the bag! As first reported by Deadline, Young has joined the cast of the AMC megahit THE WALKING DEAD for the post-apocalyptic horror drama’s 11th and final season as a character named Deaver. Unfortunately, that is about all that is known regarding the actor’s new gig, as no other character or plot details were announced. But Young was thrilled to finally be able to share that he is officially a part of the smash monster series. “So excited and pumped about joining such a successful and long-running franchise!” he said on Instagram. “Looking forward to sharing more with everyone.”
The 24-episode final season of THE WALKING DEAD is set to premiere on Sunday, August 22, concluding the television series based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman. At this time it has not been revealed when Young’s character will first air, so keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for updates and we’ll let you know!
