Kristen Alderson Worries Her Grandmother Was Exposed to Coronavirus
The current COVID-19 pandemic has caused shutdowns all over the globe as people try to protect themselves from the virus. And as people fight back against wearing face masks around other people, GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE alum Kristen Alderson (Kiki/Starr) spoke out passionately about the issue. “Real quick, if you work at a nursing home and are going places without a mask and being careless, that’s my grandmother you just exposed to the virus that you caught,” she tweeted. “You might be fine but we might never see her again. This isn’t just my story, it’s hundreds of thousands. Have a soul.”
The young actress followed up with a bit more explanation to explain why she was concerned that she may never be able to see her mom’s mother again. “Sorry for the rant,” Alderson said. “Just found out that two nurses at my granny’s nursing home got COVID this week, came to work, and exposed her and others. So now she’s in isolation even more so than she usually is. We can only pray now that she didn’t catch it.”
After a health care worker replied to her on Twitter that she always wears a mask and PPE but still caught the virus, Alderson expressed her sympathies and admitted she shouldn’t blame the nurses for spreading a disease they may not have even known they had. “Once you get it, you might not know for a while,” she allowed. “I just see so many people out and about with no masks and that’s how they could have caught it. The nursing home was finally clear of COVID and now it got brought back by two workers. It’s wrong of me to assume that they weren’t being careful, but lately that’s what I’ve seen most people doing, being careless,” she confided. “Such a scary world we’re in…”
