Mikkos Cassadine on GENERAL HOSPITAL — Everything You Need to Know

Every time someone on GENERAL HOSPITAL calls Alexis by the name Natasha, newer fans of the soap get confused. You see, Alexis Davis was originally Natasha Cassadine, daughter of the infamous Mikkos Cassadine. And as the attorney has begun to dig for information on her late father, we’re here to tell you what we already know! As played by actor John Colicos, the character of Mikkos was only on GH for a couple of months in the summer of 1981, but the legendary supervillain made quite an impression!

Mikkos masterminded a plot to achieve world domination by using a weather machine powered by the Ice Princess diamond. He welcomed several guests to his island headquarters where he demonstrated his power by freezing Port Charles with a blizzard in the middle of summer! Thankfully, Luke Spencer, Laura Webber, and Robert Scorpio crashed his party and were able to put a stop to his deadly plans. During a fight with Luke, Mikkos was pushed into an ice chamber where he froze to death. This was the start of the infamous Spencer/Cassadine feud, with his widow, Helena, cursing Luke and Laura on their wedding day.

But even though Mikkos was out of the picture, his influence was still felt as the Cassadine family continued to hold positions of wealth and power. With Helena, he had two sons, Stavros and Stefan. And from his affair with a Swedish opera singer named Kristin Bergman, Mikkos fathered two daughters, Natasha (now Alexis) and Kristina. Valentin Cassadine is also another of Mikkos’ children, although it has not yet been revealed who his mother is.

Valentin is the heir to the Cassadine fortune because he revealed Mikkos’ will that left everything to his eldest son. And because Stavros and Stefan are dead, Valentin is next in line. He has also offered information about Mikkos to Alexis, who is investigating her own past in an effort to get her future back on track.

Although he’s technically dead, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for Mikkos to return to GH. After all, Helena has come back from beyond the grave, as has Stavros. Those Cassadines are harder to kill than roaches! (Although it would require a recast as Colicos passed away in 2000.) To see how Alexis’ search into Mikkos’ past develops, keep watching!
