Monaco Made It To The Finale!

After last night’s eliminations on DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, it looks like next week’s finale is going to be ladies night, with GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kelly Monaco (Sam) joining reality TV star Melissa Rycroft and U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. “I know! It’s amazing,” Monaco enthused following the show. “I don’t know why it happened, but it happened and I embrace girl power. I think it’s awesome. I’m honored to be up there with two amazing women.”

But when faced with the idea that the champion of the first season of DANCING could go home with the mirror ball ball trophy for ALL STARS, the actress remains humble. “That would be really wild, wouldn’t it?” Monaco mused. “We’ll see. I mean, it’s a one-in-three shot at this point.”

Partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy promises that for their final freestyle, they’re going to bare their souls instead of skin. “I don’t know anything about what Val has planned for our freestyle,” Monaco confided. “But I’m sure it’s going to be amazing!”

And since the GH fans have been voting their fingers off to keep Monaco in the competition, it seems only fair that DANCING returns the favor by running a promo for the soap during the finale. “I think that would be a really smart idea,” she said, before adding with a laugh, “I think maybe we should talk to somebody!”
