New DANCING Contestants Revealed!

The contestants for the new season of DANCING WITH THE STARS has been announced, and sadly, there isn’t a soap star from ABC Daytime in the lineup. However, one of the celebrity hoofers does have a connection — Billy Dee Williams may be best known as Lando Calrissian from the Star Wars movies, but he also appeared as Toussaint in GENERAL HOSPITAL’s spin-off NIGHT SHIFT as well as in a few episodes of the parent soap itself!

You can read up on all the stars featured in this new season at the official Web site, as well as learn more about the new twist called “The Switch Up” that will allow viewers to mix and match celebrities and dance partners halfway through the season! So while Williams will initially be partnered with professional dancer Emma Slater, if he lasts to the time of the twist, that will definitely change!

Kelly Monaco (Sam, GH) and J.R. Martinez (Brot, ALL MY CHILDREN) both took home the mirror ball trophy in earlier seasons of DANCING, and Lisa Rinna (Billie, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), Cameron Mathison (Ryan, AMC), Susan Lucci (Erica, AMC), Aiden Turner (Aidan, AMC), Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax, GH) and Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH; ex-Nick, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) all acquitted themselves well.
