OLTL Forced To Recast Cole

Just days after Brandon Buddy returned to the ONE LIFE TO LIVE set to tape scenes as Cole, the soap has had to recast the role. According to our pals at Daytime Confidential, Broadway vet Van Hughes has been tapped to take over as Starr’s babydaddy and finish out the storyline as OLTL wraps up production for ABC. According to the site, Buddy taped one day’s worth of episodes but was unable to continue in the role; his scenes will reportedly be re-done with Hughes playing Cole.

This isn’t the first time Hughes has appeared in Llanview. He briefly played Ulrich Simon last September, and had a short-term recurring role on AS THE WORLD TURNS in 2006-’07. On Broadway, Hughes led the Green Day rock opera American Idiot, playing Johnny, and has also starred in 9 To 5 and Hairspray. So far, there’s no word from OLTL either confirming the recast or air dates.
