The Truth About Those Rumors!

Despite published reports on several Web sites claiming that GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Nancy Lee Grahn was being fired or suspended because of remarks she made during Sunday night’s Emmy telecast, we’re here to tell you she’s not going anywhere. A source confirms that the reports are “absolutely not true.”

In the days since the Emmy telecast, Grahn and the soap have gotten more than a little negative publicity, a fact that led to the speculation about the actress being punished. Given that this is not the first time a member of the GH cast has stirred up a little controversy via social media, it seems likely that some sort of guidelines will be handed down in the not-too-distant future. Not surprisingly, Grahn has gone radio silent on Twitter since her attempts to apologize to those she’d offended seemed to make a bad situation worse. Her last tweet to her followers, posted on September 21, reads, “I apologize for my earlier tweets and now realize I need to check my own privilege. My intention was not to take this historic and important moment from Viola Davis or other women of color, but I realize that my intention doesn’t matter here because that is what I ended up doing. I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don’t understand, but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me.”
