Thompson “Sad” To See McCullough Leave GH

There isn’t anyone more disappointed by the news that Kimberly McCullough (Robin) has decided to exit GENERAL HOSPITAL than her on-screen husband, Jason Thompson (Patrick). “We’ve had five, six years with a great couple. Kimberly and I have had a blast,” Thompson tells Soaps In Depth. “Is it going to be sad? Absolutely. No doubt about it. I’m going to be sadder than anybody.”

In order to allow GH to give a proper send-off to her character — which she began playing in 1985 when she was just 7 years old — In Depth has learned that when McCullough’s contract ended several months ago, she had agreed to stick around Port Charles for a bit longer. “Kimberly McCullough has decided to pursue her dream of directing full-time so she has decided to leave GENERAL HOSPITAL as storyline dictates,” says a show spokesperson. “Expect a poignant and must-watch storyline for Robin and Patrick.”
