Please join us in sending love to ALL MY CHILDREN star Eva LaRue (Maria), who is mourning the death of her mother, Marcie LaRuy. The beloved family matriarch passed away on April 11 at the age of 84. “Our hearts are broken,” the actress shared on Instagram with a beautiful photo of her beloved mom. “I will miss you every day, my beautiful momma.”

LaRue also included a quote from Abdu’l-Bahá: “Let the angels of Thy loving-kindness descend successively upon her, and shelter her beneath Thy blessed Tree.”

Back in 2017, LaRue revealed that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer and had been hospitalized. Her father, Luis, passed in 2019.

Thanks to the loving support of her parents, LaRue became a successful model and joined the cast of AMC back in 1993 as Maria Santos, earning a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1997. She went on to appear in primetime series like CSI: MIAMI and FULLER HOUSE. In 2019, she played Celeste Rosales on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer.

The comments to LaRue’s Instagram post quickly filled with love from friends and fans, including former co-stars. “Oh Eva, I’m so sorry, hunny,” said Kelly Ripa (Hayley). “What a beautiful family she raised.” Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) wrote: “Eva. Eva. I’m so sorry.” Y&R’s Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) expressed her condolences with a simple, “Thinking of you” and adding a heart emoji for emphasis.

Our thoughts are with LaRue and her entire family during this difficult time.
