ALL MY CHILDREN’s J.R. Martinez Welcomes His Second Child!
Please join us in congratulating ALL MY CHILDREN actor J.R. Martinez (Brot) on the birth of his second child! Back in April, he and his wife, Diana, announced they were expecting again and on Aug. 2 they welcomed their son, Leo Daniel Jones Martinez, weighing 6 lbs., 7 oz.
“Happy to introduce the newest addition to our family,” Martinez shared on Instagram along with a fun TikTok video he made where he swaddles the infant and holds him up to the sun out the window to the tune from The Lion King. “We are very excited to introduce our son-shine… it’s a boy! We are head over heels in love with our little man and can’t believe we have a son?! Yes, the nine months wait was worth it!”
Martinez and his wife already have a nine-year-old daughter, Lauryn, and the whole family was very much looking forward to expanding their ranks. “I get emotional thinking about this chapter of our lives ending,” he wrote just a day before Leo’s birth. “I am happy for the next chapter but this chapter shaped me in so many ways. It is the reason I am ready and excited for the next chapter! To our next child, you’re joining a special nucleus. We can’t wait to create memories in this next chapter. To my trio — I love you with everything I have! Thank you for being my teammates and we got this!”
Soap fans remember Martinez as Brot Monroe, the Iraq vet who first appeared on AMC in 2008, a character based on his own experiences in the war. He is also a motivational speaker and won the 13th season of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
