Kelly Ripa Reveals Details of the ALL MY CHILDREN Reboot!

For ALL MY CHILDREN fans eager to return to Pine Valley, we’ve got some good news! Kelly Ripa (Hayley) — who is executive producing the primetime reboot with her husband, Mark Consuelos (Mateo) — just revealed some details about the highly anticipated new project! “It’s a darker look at things, and I’m very excited about it,” she shared in an interview with EW.com

Tentatively titled PINE VALLEY, the series will follow an eager young journalist new to town who is secretly working their own agenda to expose the dark and murderous history of the quaint Pennsylvania burg. But the reporter’s plan hits a few hiccups when they become caught up in a feud between the Kane and Santos families. “We would be the parents, and this show is really more about the children of Pine Valley,” Ripa explained of how she and her husband would fit into the series.

Ripa and Consuelos are joined on the project by EASTENDERS scribe Leo Richardson, who is writing and executive producing, as well as Robert Nixon — whose mom, Agnes Nixon, created AMC back in the 1960s. “It was pitched to us, and we were like, ‘We will absolutely produce this. And we want to be a part of it,’” said Ripa, adding that she and Consuelos “immediately” called their AMC friends like Eva La Rue (who played Mateo’s sister, Maria), giving the OG stars a heads-up. “We started saying, ‘Just be at the ready. Get ready.’”

It’s not surprising that Ripa is so excited to do all that she can to make PINE VALLEY a success. After all, AMC holds such a special place in her heart, considering the soap “is responsible for every singular good thing that has happened in my life,” she declared. “I met my husband there, I had my children there — not in the studio but pretty close. They kept you there until your contractions were five minutes apart, as we like to say.”

It was while working at the soap that Ripa was selected to co-host LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY, which lead to the ABC sitcom HOPE & FAITH, and eventually to the production deals that Ripa and Conseulos’ Milojo Productions signed with TLC and other networks. “So it’s truly responsible for every good thing in my life that’s happened to me.”
