ATWT’s Paul Leyden and His Wife Are Expecting Baby #2!
From a family of three to a family of four! AS THE WORLD TURNS alum Paul Leyden (Simon) shared the happy news on Instagram that he and his wife, Alexia Barlier, are having another child!
The pregnancy announcement came along with several beautiful black-and-white family photos featuring the couple and their 3-year-old little girl, Raphaëlle. “Our little family is adding another little person, growing beautifully inside the most incredible wife and mother, Alexia,” Leyden captioned his post. “Excited and anxious but simply can’t wait for the big summer release!”
Barlier, a French actress, also shared the exciting news in a post of her own, with additional photos of the family taken by her and Leyden’s friend, photographer Katie Mitchell. “So happy to share with you that our family is expanding and that our darling daughter will become a big sister at the beginning of the summer!” the glowing mother-to-be reported. “Very excited to share this new step in parenthood with you, my love. Paul, I couldn’t dream of a better husband and partner for it! We’ve got this!”
A native of Australia, Leydon got his acting start in 1999 when he was cast as Warren “Wazza” Edwards on the Aussie soap HOME AND AWAY. He quickly became a favorite among American soap fans when he joined ATWT in 2000 as charming rogue Simon Frasier. In addition to his time in Oakdale, Leyden briefly played Blake Joseph on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS from 2010 to 2011 and starred opposite Heather Locklear on the primetime sudser LAX. In recent years, Leyden has stepped behind the camera as a writer and director; he most recently penned and directed the movie R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned, streaming now on Netflix.
Leyden and Barlier married on August 29, 2018, with the Swiss Alps making a breathtaking backdrop for the ceremony. They welcomed their first child, daughter Raphaëlle Anais, on June 7 of the following year, and are raising their daughter in France.
