GL Emmy Winner Joins Y&R!
THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS is adding another Emmy winner to its roster! Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Cynthia Watros has been cast as a character named Kelly, who will apparently be involved in a storyline with Billy, Victoria and Chloe. Well known to primetime audiences for her stint on LOST, Watros is remembered by daytime fans for her memorable stint as GUIDING LIGHT’s Annie.
The casting notice that Y&R sent out for the character described Kelly as “a grade school teacher by trade, but not currently working. She has been married, but recently divorced.” It also calls for the role to last a minimum of three episodes, but with a talent like Watros in the role, it’s likely that Y&R will keep her recurring for longer than that if possible.
Still, we can’t help but think that if they were thinking of recasting Phyllis, Watros would have been a doozy of a choice!
